If adrenal cocktails aren’t already part of your daily diet, what are you waiting for? These mineral rich pick me ups don’t just taste amazing, they are like rocket fuel for all of your metabolic functions. Most people are so depleted in essential minerals that after drinking adrenal cocktails for a few weeks, they can’t believe they ever went without them.


For those Adrenal Cocktail newbies, the basic premise of the original adrenal cocktail is that it contains Whole Vitamin C, Potassium and Sodium. It started as a drink to support those experiencing Adrenal Fatigue and those who would wake to use the restroom in the middle of the night, but has evolved and now we know that it can truly benefit everyone, especially those trying to manage anxiety, heal their thyroid and balance their hormones or even those that just want more sustained energy throughout the day.

This post is all about how to upgrade your adrenal cocktail and make the most of it. If you are already drinking adrenal cocktails, shake it up a little and try some of these fun with these recipes. If you have specific needs likes you are worried about blood sugar or want an alternative to orange juice, I’ve got you covered.



Before we get to the recipes, you’ll notice in all my recipes below, orange juice is the main ingredient. Make sure you are choosing quality, organic orange juice and not fake orange juice from concentrate full of sugar and additives. That would defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it? Now, if you want to juice your own organic oranges, go for it! But, for those of us that aren’t willing to commit that kind of time, these are 3 brands that I recommend and you can find them at several grocery stores and Costco.

I am a believer that your OJ should also be pulp free. The main reason behind the pulp-free orange juice is that pulp-free ensures you aren’t having to work any harder to digest the pulp. When we chew oranges, we create and utilize enzymes that help break it down. When you drink and swallow without chewing you can run into a digestion problem.


You can substitute with organic, grass fed cream or coconut cream, but truly raw is superior. Raw milk and cream have digestive enzymes that improve digestion and a nutrient profile that is significantly higher than pasteurized dairy, even if it’s organic and grass fed. Not all salt is created equal and the quality of the sea salt you are using matters. Redmonds is my favorite and should also be what you use at your dinner table as well. You can usually find it at most grocery stores. Redmonds is mined from an ancient sea bed in Utah and produces unrefined, unprocessed ancient sea salt with trace minerals and no additives. It has nothing added and nothing removed. It’s truly the best there is and you want all those good trace minerals. You can also use a quality Himalayan salt of your choosing.

When Should You Drink It?

You can technically drink it any time, it’s better to drink it than not to. But, these are the best times.

  • When your energy levels are low between 10-11AM and 2-3PM.

  • Right before bedtime – if you experience waking up at 3AM

  • Pre / Post workout snack
