CAR SEATS

PFAS & Flame Retardant free infant car seats

a note from Wendy

When shopping for a car seat, there are so many more low tox options than ever before.  What do I look for?  A car seat that has no intentionally added PFAS forever chemicals or flame retardants. Extra emphasis is given for those with 3rd party testing for other chemicals of concern and GREENGUARD Gold certifications.   You can find both natural fiber and polyester fibers, so shop for your preference.  Usually cost is the biggest deciding factor when it comes to fabric options.

HOW TO CHOOSE A car seat

my fave!

Nuna was the first brand to set this level of standard across its products and remains the only brand doing so today. While Nuna comes at a higher price point, there's a reason it's my top recommendation. Their entire product line is free from added flame-retardant chemicals, PFAS and uses the best materials like Merino wool, TENCEL™ Lyocell, and GOTS-certified organic cotton, along with safer dyes. Nuna products are also GREENGUARD Gold Certified, reducing the exposure to harmful chemicals in your child's environment. Simply put, they're the GOAT when it comes to safer baby gear.
