Your filtered water might be clean, but it’s also dead, and that’s why you’re not feeling as good as you should. In this eye-opening conversation with Dr. Abby Kramer, co-founder of Fringe Heals, we dive deep into the world of clean electrolyte powder, minerals, and the honest truth about the supplement industry. While most supplements don’t deliver on their promises and contain hidden ingredients like maltodextrin and artificial flavors, proper mineral supplementation is one of the few areas where quality products can create immediate, noticeable improvements in your health.
The reality is stark: our soil and water have become severely depleted of essential minerals, leaving most people deficient in these critical nutrients. Even if you’re filtering your water for safety (which you should), you’re likely removing the minerals your body desperately needs. This deficiency affects everything from energy levels and anxiety to sleep quality and muscle recovery.
In this episode, Dr. Kramer shares her journey creating truly clean electrolyte and magnesium supplements, why most products on the market miss the mark, and how proper mineral balance can transform your health. Whether you’re dealing with brain fog, muscle soreness, or just want to optimize your wellness routine, you’ll learn why minerals might be the missing piece in your health puzzle.
In today’s episode, we’re chatting about:
- Why most electrolytes on the market contain hidden ingredients not listed on the label
- How mineral deficiency affects your energy, anxiety, and overall wellbeing
- The truth about reverse osmosis water and why it needs remineralization
- Why magnesium is involved in over 800 biochemical processes in your body
- How to identify quality supplements in an unregulated industry
What Are Electrolytes and Why Do We Need Them?
Electrolytes are minerals found naturally in our environment that are very important cofactors to nearly every biological process our body needs to do. In a perfect world, we would get all those from food and water. However, most people are very depleted because our soil has become depleted in its mineral content.
All bodies have different needs. All Fringe Heals products try to keep sodium content at a safe but effective dose. It will have an effect, but as close as nature intends. The team at Fringe Heals is committed to learning and researching as new science comes out. Their next formulation will have more potassium.
The bottom line is that our food and water are depleted of these nutrients. How can we make getting a clean electrolyte powder easy for people so they feel great for a long time? It’s just replenishing those important baseline nutrients. You are probably not getting enough minerals, magnesium, or vitamin D. Fringe Heels doesn’t want the extra or trendy stuff. They create products that just get the nutrients back in your system as nature intended.
Flavored Electrolytes
Fringe Heals’ main product is unflavored clean electrolyte powder. It’s surprisingly hard to create a flavored electrolyte product without a bunch of junk in it. They managed to do it (coming soon!), but it was a struggle!
Over a year ago, they were at the finish line of creating a flavored electrolyte powder. They got the final documents from the flavoring company (not their team) and were told that the orange flavor was super good. The label would show orange juice, orange extract, and monk fruit as the flavoring ingredients. It wouldn’t say ‘natural flavors,’ which they have been adamant about since day one.
The Fringe Heals team decided to double-check the label, and there were four extra ingredients on it, including silicon dioxide and citric acid! The team wasn’t willing to compromise on the quality of their ingredients. The flavor company said, “Don’t worry about those flavors because they’re in such small amounts. You don’t have to put them on the label.”
This is just SO concerning. I’ve said this multiple times, but I don’t think people believe it. Companies can be vague and omit ingredients in their products. If you’re committed to understanding what’s in a product, you should know how to read labels and take steps to dig deeper.
Shop Clean Electrolyte Powder
Gatorade has so many unnecessary ingredients in it. Between all the dyes and sugar, there’s no need to consume that crap. People have started looking for other options, which I love.
I always get samples sent to me, but my favorite clean electrolyte powder is Fringe Heals. Shop all Fringe Heals products and use code WENDY10 for 10% off.
