Cookware should last you a LIFETIME!  The best options are uncoated and the material is a matter of preference.  Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Carbon Steel & Titanium are all great options.  Cast Iron and Carbon Steel can leach iron, so take that in to consideration.

Many companies carry “non stick” options in addition to their no coating options.  All recommendations here have ZERO PFAS, however many brands offer that as an option.  If you leave this page to shop direct from a brand, make sure to avoid their PFAS non-stick options.

my fave!

This is my top pick and what I have in my home. There is a place in my kitchen for my cast iron pan and stainless steel pots, but the vast majority of my cooking is done on my Titanium Pro set.   It's uncoated, but the grooves in the Titanium create a non stick surface when cooking oils are added.  I love them so much and they are indestructible and will last a lifetime.

Really want Ceramic Coated?

Non PFAS ceramic coated pans have a non-stick coating, but because stop top cooking is HOT... they will not last very long.  These coatings are non-toxic, but they will come off eventually. Bakeware holds up much better than cookware.  If you want them for the convenience (or just because they are super pretty!) these are the brands I would pick.

my fave!

WAIT.. didn't I JUST say that these non-toxic non stick coatings will come off after a few years?  Yes.  On the cookware they will.  But, I have had my Caraway bakeware set for almost 5 years and the coating is still intact and practically new.  I think the even oven heating vs. direct stop top heating makes a big difference.  Baking on this entire set is so convenient.

Make sure it's the brand with a capital P sold in Europe - not the lowercase P sold in the US.  The US version is fine for food storage only.  The site linked sells the European version.

While borosilicate glass bakeware would technically be a stronger glass option than sode-lime glass, Anchor Hocking makes a tempered soda-lime silicate that is thermally treated to more than double the mechanical strength of borosilicate.

They also have a PFAS Free ceramic baking line that is non-toxic.   AVOID their metal non stock line, which is made with PFAS.

PLATINUM SILICONE

this brand is also my top pick for dinnerware!

ENAMELED CAST IRON

stainless steel

I don't personally love baking on 100% uncoated stainless steel.  But, if you are a purest and you want bakeware that will last you a lifetime, doesn't need to be non-stick and you can pass to your kids?  This is it.

There are few things taht I love more in my kitchen than my Di Oro utensils.   Because they have zero fillers and are 100% platinum silicone, they will not break down and release chemicals.  Perfect for all coatings, pans and uses.  Honestly.. I can't stand using wood or stainless steel.   These make me so happy.
